RECENTLY, A FAMILY MEMBER WAS STRUCK by a truck as she crossed the street. After months in hospitals struggling to survive, she passed away. This tragic event was a shock to the everyday lives of her entire extended family. One minute she was healthy and alive; the next, she was facing death and eternity.
Our time on earth is here today and can be gone tomorrow. None of us know when exactly we will see the Lord. Yet one thing we do know is that time is short. Especially in light of eternity, our time on earth is but a breath.
We must take care, being intentional in how we spend our time. Our focus needs to keep in mind both today and “that day” when we see Him face to face.
It has been said, “The days are getting longer, but the years are getting shorter!” Be careful not to squander your time and your opportunity. Keep focused on God and His Kingdom! How are you spending our time? Do you look at the end of your day and say, “That was significant”? Or do you say, “What did I do—what a wasted day!” Once a day has passed, we never will get it back.
We all will give an account of how we spent our lives. Ask the Lord to give you wisdom for your investment of time.
