New Ministry in Nkawkaw, Ghana and Sunyani, Ghana

Training Leaders in the One Leader Message

We were simply overwhelmed by the response of the over 150 pastors and key leaders on the Ghana Church of Pentecost here in Nkawkaw, Ghana. The pastors came from small towns and rural villages with a hunger for Christ and a great desire to serve their people/communities.

This event was very unusual for the Pentecostal church, as they almost exclusively keep leadership training “in-house”. The area director for the church had heard about the teaching and had previously been the head of the Ghana Evangelism Committee, so he was eager to equip his pastors and leaders with the One Leader message.

We held two days of training. The first day focused on the 150 pastors and leaders, and the second day was a train-the-trainer event for over 50 potential trainers of this process.

Keep praying for the reception and the follow-up to put his teaching in each of their hearts.

Phil. 1:9-11 says, “And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”

Pastor Training in Sunyani, Ghana

We meet over 170 national pastors from the Apostles’ Continuation Church of Ghana. These pastors came from all over Ghana and were extremely challenged and appreciative of the training. This is the home church of my host, Sam Oppong.

Sam said after the training, “We had a fruitful time together, and I believe Leadership Revolution has come to stay and will transform the leadership hearts of our church leaders. It is something which is needed everywhere. Leadership Revolution takes the burden off the ‘hard-working’ leader to Christ. It is simply being a follower of Christ and allowing Him to lead in and through you. It stresses the importance of making Christ the foundation on which other leadership skills / principles are built. We definitely need it in all our ministry areas.”

Bruce is someone we can work with, as he is like a brother although it was our first time we met and worked with each other. It was as if we had known each other for years. We are looking forward to working with him in Ghana and other West African countries as the Lord leads.

Psalms  66:3,5 says, “Say to God, “How awesome are Your works! Because of the greatness of Your power Your enemies will give feigned obedience to You….Come and see the works of God, Who is awesome in His deeds toward the sons of men.”
